Roots of Yoga: The
Ancient Art of Harmony
The prac琀椀ce of yoga began over 5,000 years ago in India, origina琀椀ng as
a deep spiritual prac琀椀ce focused on enhancing medita琀椀ve consciousness.
The term 'yoga' itself comes from the Sanskrit 'yuj', which means to
yoke or unite, epitomising the union of body and mind that is central to
the prac琀椀ce. It was not un琀椀l the sage Patanjali penned the Yoga Sutras
around 400 CE that the philosophical blueprint for modern yoga was
established, turning abstract medita琀椀ons into the physical postures
and breath control techniques prac琀椀sed globally today.
