North America
Europe
In North America, the American
Cancer Society reports that breast,
lung, prostate, and colorectal cancers
are the most diagnosed cancers. The
United States has one of the highest
cancer rates globally, partly due to
lifestyle factors and advanced diagnos琀椀c
methods. Canada shows similar pa琀琀erns,
with lung cancer being the leading cause
of cancer death.
Europe shows high cancer incidence rates,
partly a琀琀ributed to the high quality of cancer
registra琀椀on and ageing popula琀椀ons. The most
common cancers in Europe are breast, lung,
colorectal, prostate, and bladder cancer, as
reported by Cancer Research UK. Eastern
European countries have higher rates of lung
and stomach cancer, o昀琀en associated with
tobacco use and dietary factors.
South America
Cancer pa琀琀erns in South America
are in昀氀uenced by socio-economic
factors and healthcare access.
According to the Pan American
Health Organiza琀椀on (PAHO), the
most common cancers in South
America are breast, prostate, and
colorectal cancers. Countries like
Brazil and Argen琀椀na also have high
rates of lung and stomach cancers.
Africa
The cancer burden in Africa is
rapidly growing. The World Health
Organiza琀椀on (WHO) es琀椀mated that
by 2030, cancer deaths in Africa could
double from the 2008 levels, primarily
due to an aging popula琀椀on and
growth, as well as changes in lifestyle
that increase cancer risk.
