Train with a mate

and loved ones with similar goals,
working out together means that
you’ll be able to both support one
another and have fun. Buddies who
train together are more likely to stay
consistent with their training too.
Enlist a Personal Trainer
Get o昀昀 on the right foot by 昀椀nding
a Personal Trainer (PT) that can help
you get back into your gym rou琀椀ne.
Try a group class
Look to ease back into your 昀椀tness
regime by taking advantage of
structured and instructor lead
classes at the gym (e.g. FIIT30).
Stretch
Include stretches before and a昀琀er
your workout to help prepare and
recover your muscles, especially
when resuming exercise a昀琀er a
long break.
Don’t forget rest days
In the 昀椀rst couple of weeks, make
sure you have one rest day for every
training session. Then, depending
on your goals, start increasing your
training days with fewer rest days.
Even elite athletes have days o昀昀, so
ideally, you will always enjoy at least
one rest day per week.
Sleep & eat
What you do outside of the gym
ma琀琀ers as much as what you do
within your session. Aim for a good
night’s rest and a healthy diet.
