BURNOUT VS STRESS
While burnout and stress are related, they aren’t
the same. Stress usually manifests as emo琀椀onal and
physical hyperac琀椀vity—feeling constantly engaged
or overwhelmed. Burnout, on the other hand, is the
result of long-term stress, leading to a deple琀椀on
of your physical and emo琀椀onal reserves. Stress is
something most of us are aware of, but burnout can
be trickier to spot because it creeps up over 琀椀me.
BURNOUT AND SLEEP
Burnout and sleep have a two-way rela琀椀onship:
poor sleep can contribute to burnout, and burnout
can make it hard to get a good night’s rest. Not
ge琀�ng enough sleep or struggling with sleep
disorders can both increase your risk of burnout.
WHAT CAUSES BURNOUT?
Burnout can stem from various work-related factors, but personality
and lifestyle factors can also play a signi昀椀cant role. Here are some
key contributors:
